Maranam ethunna nerathu nee ente arikil ithiri neram irikkane
[At the time when death comes, you please sit beside me for a little bit]
Kanalukal kori maravicha viralukal oduvil ninne thalodi shamikkuvaan
[So that the fingers which are frozen from handling embers, goes still while caressing you]
Oduvil aayi akathekku edukkum shwaasa kanikayil ninte gandham undaakuvaan
[So that in every atom of my last breath intake, your fragrance is carried]
Maranam ethunna nerathu nee ente arikil ithiri neram irikkane
[At the time when death comes, you please sit beside me for a little bit]
Ini thurakkendath(u)-illatha kankalil priyathe, nin mukham mungi kidakkuvaan
[So that in the eyes which need not be opened again, my darling, your face stays submerged]
Oru swaram polum ini edukkath(a)-oru ee chevikal nin swara mudrayaal mooduvaan
[So that these ears which will not take any more sounds is covered with a stamp of your voice]
Arivum ormayum katthum sirashil nin haritha swacha smaranakal peyyuvaan
[So that the brain aflame with cognition and remembrance, gets showered by your evergreen comforting memories]
Maranam ethunna nerathu nee ente arikil ithiri neram irikkane
[At the time when death comes, you please sit beside me for a little bit]
Adharamaam chumbanathinte murivu nin madhura naamajapathinaal kooduvaan
[So that the last bruised kiss my lips take by coming together is while uttering your sweet name]
Pranayame, ninnilekku nadann(a)-oru en vazhikal orthu ente paadam thanukkuvaan
Pranayame, ninnilekku nadann(a)-oru en vazhikal orthu ente paadam thanukkuvaan
[Hey love, so that my feet cools thinking of each step I took towards you]
Athu mathi udal moodiya mannil ninnu ivanu pulkodi aayi uyarthelkkuvaan
[That’s more than enough for this man to resurrect from the graveyard as a blade of grass]
Maranam ethunna nerathu nee ente arikil ithiri neram irikkane
Maranam ethunna nerathu nee ente arikil ithiri neram irikkane
[At the time when death comes, you please sit beside me for a little bit]

shame ,,,you did not mention the music composer who made this song a pearl
It’s a shame that is the only thing you could say about this post. 😉 I mentioned what struck me the most, that is in no way a slight to Shahabaz Aman, who everyone knows is a great composer and singer. Also all major artists (composers, singers, lyricists, actors, directors and producers) are always mentioned in tags.
beautiful translation
Can anyone give me an asvadhanam on this poem
