Aaa..

Oraal mathram urukunna veyil aanithu
Oraalil aayi peyyunna mazha aanithu
[This is a sunlight which melts only one
This is a rain which falls only in one]
Pala naalil ingane kann nattu kaathathin,
aruthiyil vazhiyunna nanavu aanithu…
[Those many days of eager wait,
the wetness at the end of it…]
mazha aanithu…
[is this rain…]

Oraal mathram urukunna veyil aanithu
[This is a sunlight which melts only one]

Alasam aayi ozhukunna puzhayaanithu
Kaalam ariyaathe aliyunna shila aanithu
[This is a lazily flowing river
This is a rock eroding over the ages]
Alasam aayi ozhukunna puzhayaanithu
Kaalam ariyaathe aliyunna shila aanithu
[This is a lazily flowing river
This is a rock eroding over the ages]
Oduvil ee theerathu adiyum manalile oru thari neerunna novaanithu
[It is a grain of smarting pain of the sand which finally rests on this shore]

Oraal mathram urukunna veyil aanithu
[This is a sunlight which melts only one]

Kaathirippin neenda kadavu aanithu
Kaathu kanneer unangiya kavil aanithu
[This is a long river bank of anticipation
This is a cheek where the tears have dried up waiting]
Kaathirippin neenda kadavu aanithu
Kaathu kanneer unangiya kavil aanithu
[This is a long river bank of anticipation
This is a cheek where the tears have dried up waiting]
Kali aayi mozhinjathum vida aayi paranjathum, kadalaal olippicha karal aanithu
[This is a heart which hid those playful speeches and words of goodbye, (in deep) like the ocean]

Oraal mathram urukunna veyil aanithu
Oraalil aayi peyyunna mazha aanithu
[This is a sunlight which melts only one
This is a rain which falls only in one]
Pala naalil ingane kann nattu kaathathin,
aruthiyil vazhiyunna nanavu aanithu…
[Those many days of eager wait,
the wetness at the end of it…]
mazha aanithu…
[is this rain…]

Oraal mathram urukunna veyil aanithu
[This is a sunlight which melts only one]

  1. One of those greatest songs of saddness that Queen K S chithra sung beautifully, with soul and grace.
Personally, success can lie on your effort and translation, dear Teacher Thumbi… May you stay happy and blessed for your entire life….

    Thanx….though thanks cannot be ENOUGH…
