Nee kanavin attathu kanika vattathil maanjaalum penne
Aa muthanikkaalil muthichirikkana kolussu aayi en mizhikal
[Even if you disappear like a speck at the tip of my dream, girl
my eyes became the anklets which kisses and laughs on your beautiful feet]

Nee kanavin attathu kanika vattathil maanjaalum penne
Aa muthanikkaalil muthichirikkana kolussu aayi en mizhikal
[Even if you disappear like a speck at the tip of my dream, girl
my eyes became the anklets which kisses and laughs on your beautiful feet]
Nee pullathipayyinte chaelode chutti parakkum neram
cheru chirakin ullil urummi nikkum kaattu aayi en hrudayam
[When you fly around like a beautiful spotted bird,
my heart became the breeze which rubbed against your tiny wings]
Thee kathana mettilum manjanikunnilum, ninne njan thiranje
Ila njettu attu veezhum niswanam polum, nee aayi njaan arinje
[In the fiery meadows and foggy hill tops, I searched for you
even the breath in which a leaf separated, I knew it as you]

Saamajavaragamana!* Nee chaaru soona charana!
Uyiril aake uravapole nirayum ninte smarana
[Oh Lord! Your feet are like beautiful flowers!
Your thoughts fill my soul like water from a spring]
Saamajavaragamana! Nee chaaru soona charana
Uyiril aake uravapole nirayum ninte smarana
[Oh Lord! Your feet are like beautiful flowers!
Your thoughts fill my soul like water from a spring]

Nee kanavin attathu kanika vattathil maanjaalum penne
Aa muthanikkaalil muthichirikkana kolussu aayi en mizhikal
[Even if you disappear like a speck at the tip of my dream, girl
my eyes became the anklets which kisses and laughs on your beautiful feet]

Peru ariyathoru aa peshala bhaavamo?
Anu nimisham ennil ithalu viriyum maayika ninavo?
[Is this a nameless beautiful feeling?
Or is it a magical thought which blossoms every moment in me?]
Kathirava naalam aayi, iniyum agaadham aayi
nin jeeva saagarathil veenathu ennude manamo?
[Like a ray of sunlight, going much deeper
is it my heart which fell into the ocean of your life?]
Rithu oronnum ivanil nee, munneraan athiru nee
chiraku nee, ulaku nee, njaan ee
[You are like different seasons in him (referring to self), you are the frontier (I want) to go beyond
you are the wings, you are the world, I in this]
vaanin nira neelima, cherunee kannima
vazhiyil ente irulu neekum oliyude thanima
[sky’s absolute blueness, close eyes
(and you are) the glow of the light which removes darkness from my path]

Saamajavaragamana!* Nee chaaru soona charana
Uyiril aake uravapole nirayum ninte smarana
[Oh Lord! Your feet are like beautiful flowers!
Your thoughts fill my soul like water from a spring]
Saamajavaragamana! Nee chaaru soona charana
Uyiril aake uravapole nirayum ninte smarana
[Oh Lord! Your feet are like beautiful flowers!
Your thoughts fill my soul like water from a spring]

Nee kanavin attathu kanika vattathil maanjaalum penne
Aa muthanikkaalil muthichirikkana kolussu aayi en mizhikal
[Even if you disappear like a speck at the tip of my dream, girl
my eyes became the anklets which kisses and laughs on your beautiful feet]
Nee pullathipayyinte chaelode chutti parakkum neram
Cheru chirakin ullil urummi nikkum kaattu aayi en hrudayam
[When you fly around like a beautiful spotted bird
My heart became the breeze which rubbed against your tiny wings]

* Saamajavaragamana literally means a person with the relaxed gait of an elephant, a popular reference for Lord Vishnu in Hinduism. I believe here the guy is invoking the Lord’s name as he cant help but admire the girl. On another note, I had an exchange on Instagram where someone said the original lyricist of the original Telugu version, Seetharama Sastry, mentions in an interview that he is using Samajavaragamana in reference to the lady protagonist’s gait.
