[In my heart is a swinging wave of Kaalindi(river), while (I’m) doing a shayanapradakshinam* with my soul]
ozhukum ee ashruvin pralaya jaldhiyil,
aalila kannan** aayi anayukille?
[in the flood formed by these flowing tears,

Kaliyugam arppikkum kadambin pookalil
njaana sourabhyam aayi nirayukille?
[In the flowers of obstacles provided by the Kaliyuga,

*Shayanapradakshinam is a physical offering to God in Hindu temples where you prostrate on the ground with your hands extended and palms joined together in prayer form and circumambulate the temple.
** Kannan on peepal leaf is part of a legend where the sage Markandeya finds baby Lord Krishna floating on a peepal leaf during a flood at the end of times. This blog post has more description on this if you are interested.
