Mathukutty who grew up as a boy on the outside, starts a new life as Marykutty, a woman.

I loved the hopeful lyrics which captures a blossoming life. Jayasurya makes a really pretty and dignified Marykutty in this song – a refreshing change from how a transperson is generally portrayed onscreen. I had loved his experimental movie ‘Su Su Sudhi Vatmeekam’, hope this one does good too. Also kudos to Adwaith for taking up Mathukutty’s childhood role in that song. As a parent, I can only imagine the amount of deliberation the family must have gone through picking such a role for your child, when we live in a judgmental society where any slightly “girlish” quality in a boy (and vice versa) is strongly mocked.
