Kandu Njan Ninne

(Translation on request for S)
A breezy melody from SoLo – World of Shekhar. The lines may indicate the female protagonist is blind (I could be wrong though 🙂 ). I am also wondering why the song is called “Kandu Nee Enne” (You saw me) everywhere, rather than “Kandu njaan ninne”(I saw you)

To listen to the song, click play:

Kandu njan ninne, en penne, kaanathe thanne…
…kandille enne, nee enne?
[I saw you, my girl, even without seeing…
…aren’t you seeing me?]
Chollathe ennum kettille nee enne enne
Onnayathalle naam anne?
[Without an uttered word, you have heard me
Haven’t we become one since then?]

Maayunnen novum, maayum nin raavum
Maayaathe ee chiri
[My disappearing pain, your receding nights
and our never lost smiles]
Nin neela kannil njanennum koottayi,
iniyennum nammal neenthi kanavin kadal
[In your blue eyes I will be with you,
now we will swim across our dreams’ ocean]

Paari naam, maranju poyi vilangukal
En chundil niranju poyi minnaaminnikal
[We flew, our shackles have vanished
My lips are hoarding fireflies]
Njan nin nizhal, nin kaaladi
Nin pooviral njodiyil, ulvili
[I’m your shadow, your footprints
One snap of your beautiful fingers, my heart listens]

Maayunnen novum, maayum nin raavum
Mayathe ee chiri
[My disappearing pain, your receding nights
and our never lost smiles]
Nin neela kannil njanennum koottayi,
iniyennum nammal neenthi kanavin kadal
[In your blue eyes I will be with you,
now we will swim across our dreams’ ocean]

Kandu njan ninne, en penne
[I saw you, my girl]

Kandu njan ninne, en penne
[I saw you, my girl]
