Pularikalo

(Translation on request for M.)
Tessa starts a secret life in a studio style apartment in Kochi. She takes each morning as it comes and enjoys her newly acquired freedom from her orthodox, uptight family who lives by strict social rules. She is a free soul who finds meaning in the beauty of nature rather than the finer things luxury brings.

Pularikalo… sandhyakalo…
Kanaka nilaa kathirukalo…
[These daybreaks…and twilights…
and these bunches of golden moon beams…]
…en dina malaril, thoomadhu kanamayi,*
Nimisham oro, shalabham aayi…
[…in my (flower like) days, became pure honey drops.
Each moment, became a butterfly…]
Njan unarnnu, jeevan aake gaanam aayi
[I woke up and my life became a song]

Ee jeevithamaam kumilayil minnumbol, sakalathum prabhaamayam
Ee thanthrikalil, kelkaaththa raagangal, viral muna thedave
[This life, is like being in a shiny bubble and everything seems so bright to me
On these strings, unheard melodies, my finger tips are searching for]
Maya dweepil, albhutha deepam thottu,
minnalu pole varum jinn innu ente munnil
[It is like being on an the enchanted island and touching the magic lamp
Where, in a flash, a jinn appears before me]
Ee chumarinmel, sayaannha rashmi pole
Kadal oru vara aakunnuvo?
[On these walls, like a ray of evening sunlight;
is the ocean also appearing as a mere line? ]

Pularikalo… sandhyakalo…
Kanaka nilaa kathirukalo…
[These daybreaks…and twilights…
and these bunches of golden moon beams…]
…en dina malaril, thoomadhu kanamayi,*
Nimisham oro, shalabham aayi…
[…in my (flower like) days, became pure honey drops.
Each moment, became a butterfly…]
Njan unarnnu, jeevan aake gaanam aayi
[I woke up and my life became a song]
